Oil on Canvas such as this artwork below is very rare from listed painter and illustrator Alexander Canedo.

Born in Mexico City in 1902 to a Spanish father and American mother, he was a prodigy and at the age of fifteen went to Paris to study at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts under noted sculptor Jean Magron. He came to the United States in 1928 and began exhibiting his meticulous drawings and watercolors at prestigious galleries in New York and Los Angeles.

He was active in the Los Angeles art scene throughout the 1960's, and died in 1978.
