Andre Boratko, the listed artist known particularly for his modern landscapes
and figural paintings was born in Austria on January 5th of 1912. Emigrating to
the United States, he attended the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Saint
Paul Institute of Art. He went on to teach at the California College of Arts and
Crafts in Oakland, California in the 1940's.
He has been exhibited extensively, including the Minneapolis Institute of
Art, the Los Angeles County Fair, the California State Fair, the University of
Washington in Seattle, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
He died in his home of El Cerrito in California on July 14th of 1990.
