A well regarded New Jersey painter, teacher and engraver, Armondo Sozio
was born in Salermo, Italy in 1897.
He studied at the Fawcett Scholl of Fine and Industrial
Arts, the National Academy of Boston, and New York University. He started
his career as a steel plate engraver at the American Bank Note Company and
taught art in the public school system of Elizabeth, New Jersey, then later
at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. He exhibited widely, and
his works are in many public and private collections. He died in 1966.
