Born in 1918 in Eugene, Oregon, Avrum Rubenstein was a painter and writer in the City if San Francisco, California.

He owned a gallery known as 'The Scene', which he ran with fellow artists Jan Hillcourt and William Weber. He wrote articles for the San Francisco Review, and his papers are on file with the San Francisco Public Library.

This painting was exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Art. His death date is unknown.
