A listed painter known for her still life, portraits and landscapes, Bessie Ginsberg was born in 1888 in Boston, Massachusetts, and studied at the New England Conservatory of Music before taking up art studies with William Silva and Felicie Waldo Howell.

She was active in New York until moving to Los Angeles, California with her husband, the movie mogul Jessie L. Lasky. She was a member of the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors and Women Painters of the West. She exhibited at Gumps in San Francisco, the Stendahl Gallery in Los Angeles, and The Gallery in Palm Springs. She died in 1972.
