Carl Schmidt is a well-listed California painter and muralist known for his California landscapes and genre scenes prior to 1940. Born in 1885 in Saint Charles, Minnesota, he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and became active in California art associations upon relocating to San Bernardino in 1924. His works were exhibited at the Stendahl Gallery and the Los Angeles County Museum. He died in 1969. |
