Dorothy Sklar is a well-listed
Californias painter known for her paintings, watercolors, and charcoals of
Southern California landscapes, cityscapes, figural works and abstracts.
She was born in New York City in 1906, but moved to Los
Angeles, California at the age of four. She trained at USC and the Chouinard
Art Institute with Millard Sheets, Dong Kingman, and Stanton
MacDonald-Wright. She was a member of many art associations and exhibited
widely. She died in 1996.
