| Born in Chicago, Illinois 1940, Elizabeth Murray is an artist from New York City well known for her colorful paintings, screen prints and Sculptures. Her works have been exhibited at MOMA, the Whitney, the Venice Biennale, and most major museums in the United States. She was educated at the Art Institute of Chicago and Mills College in the Bay area in California. Her work is referenced in sixty-four standard art reference resources. She was recently given a full page obituary in Art In America magazine, in October of 2007, the year of her decease.
