Definitively of the English School, this portrait is of
Lieutenant Colonel G. Harwood Cope, of the West Yorkshire Regiment, and the
Deputy Chief Constable of Cheshire. The brass plaque below bears his birth
and death dates, so it is surmised this may be a posthumous portraiture.
This came to us from a Los Angeles estate, and the uniform
worn in the portrait appears to be early 20th Century.
