A listed Scandinavian painter, Eva Andersen was known for her landscapes and portraits.

She gave painting lessons to Queen Margrethe of Denmark for many years. Her work was exhibited at the Musee de' Art Moderne in Paris, France, the Charlottenborg in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Holbaek Museum, and with the Aurora Group.

This painting is reminiscent of the WPA paintings of the early 1930's and 1940's funded under the Franklin Roosevelt Administration.
