Born
in 1921, Evelyn Levy Shaw was a respected Cincinnati, Ohio
artist known for her figural works in oils. A graduate of
the Cincinnati Art Academy and the Cincinnati University Art
Department, she also studied with Moses Soyer in New York.
She
exhibited nationally at such venues as the Library of
Congress, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston,
Massachusetts, and the Print Club of Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, among others. She still has works exhibited in
the Library of Congress, and she is included in many private
and corporate collections. She died in 2009. |
