This artwork by listed landscape and marine painter Fred H. Daniels depicts the 1946 Lipton Challenge yacht race with the yachts of the United States and Great Britain. 

He was born in 1872 in Massachusetts, and was the Director of Art Education of the school system of Buffalo, New York around 1915. He was the author of a book entitled The Teaching Of Ornament, and by 1920 he was living with his wife and daughter in Newton, Massachusetts, where he was the Supervisor of Drawing in the public schools.
