A listed Palm Springs artist, Fred Penney is known for his paintings and
watercolors of the desert area.
Born in 1900 in Fullerton, Nebraska, he moved to
California in 1924 and studied at the Chouinard Art Institute, the Art
Institute of Chicago, and the Art Student's League in New York.
He was a member of the Desert Art Center in Palm
Springs, California, the Laguna Beach Art Association and the California
Watercolor Society. He died in 1988.
