Born in 1910, Ione Robinson is a noted painter, photographer, writer, journalist, and political activist.

She assisted Diego Rivera on the murals in the Palacio Nacional in Mexico City, won a Guggenheim scholarship and studied at the Otis Institute and the Art Student's League. She exhibited her works in gallery showings in the United States, Italy, Mexico, and France. Her works are in the permanent collections of the Museo de arte Moderno in Mexico City and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. She died in 1989.
