Listed French Surrealist painter Jean-Pierre
Serrier was known for his paintings of harlequins, landscapes, figural
groups and circuses.
He studied at the School of
Applied Arts in Paris, France.
His paintings were exhibited
throughout Europe and the United States. A retrospective of his work was
held in New York in 1986. He died in 1989.
