Listed
painter and watercolorist, Justin Faivre initially was known for his
landscapes, then later for his Abstract works.
He studied at the Portland Art Gallery and with Howard
Ellis. He also worked as a freelance commercial artist in Los Angeles,
California, starting in the late 1920's and later relocated top San
Francisco where he exhibited at the Oakland Art Gallery. Most of his subject
material came from the Alameda County area.
Shortly before his death, the majority of his
accumulated works were stolen from a storage shed.
