Kelly
Pruitt was a listed Texas painter known for his scenes of the old Southwest.
Essentially self-taught, his earliest work was on sandstone in Arizona near
the Grand Canyon. He had many one-man shows in most major US cities as well
as in the capitol cities of Europe.
Born in 1924, he lived his dream as a cowboy from the
age of twelve, and launched his career as a painter when discovered by the
owner of the El Tovar Hotel. He died in 2009.
