Born in Los Angeles in 1918, listed painter and sculptor Leon D'Usseau was a pupil of Merrill Gage and Alexander Archipenko while training at the Chouinard Art Institute. he was also a protégé of Paul Blaine Henri.

He worked out of both Los Angeles and Orange Counties, and exhibited at the LACMA, the California Palace of the Legion of Honor and the Laguna Festival of the Arts. He died in 1991.
