Leonard Edmondson is an
important California abstract expressionist, printmaker, and art educator.
Born in Sacramento, California in 1916, he studied at
the Los Angeles City College and the University of California at Berkeley.
His first solo show was at the De Young Memorial Museum in 1952 followed by
additional solo shows at the Pasadena Art Museum and the Santa Barbara
Museum. He received many awards, and a retrospective of his work was held at
the San Francisco Museum of Art in 1967. He died in 2002.
