A listed Columbian painter, Luis Alberto Acuna was
born in 1904, and was at the forefront of the Columbian School of Painters
during his lifetime. His works were exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in
New York City, and the San Francisco Museum.
He was a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in
Bogota, and studied at the Academie Julien in Paris with Paul Landovsky. He
was appointed the Rector of the Centro de Bella Artes de Bacaramanga upon
his return to Columbia in 1929. He died in 1994.
