Born in 1920, Marion (Marian) Sampler was a listed
African-American graphic artist whose works were recently acquired by the
California African American Museum for their permanent collection.
He graduated from the University of Southern
California (USC) in 1955 and worked for Gruen and Associates for his entire
career. His work has been featured in several books including Black
Dimensions in American Art in 1971. One of his major clients was the
Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. He died in 1998.
