Born in 1916, Matthew William Boyhan is a listed New York /
Massachusetts painter who studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Art, the
American Academy in Rome, and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, France. He
was also a pupil of Charles Woodbury, and studied with him at the Ogunquit
School in Maine.
He was one of the youngest winners of the Prix de Rome
award at the Ecole Des Beaux Arts in Paris, and was known for his paintings
of animals, cityscapes and landscapes. He died in 1996.
