A well listed painter, designer and craftsman, Oronzo Gasparo was born in 1903 in Bari, Italy. He was resettles in New York City at an early age.

He studied at the School of Design and Liberal Arts in New York, and was mentored by Preston Dickinson. During the Depression he worked on the WPA Easel Project.

He had over forty one man shows during his lifetime, and retrospective in 1974. He died in 1969.
