Listed California artist Pascal Cucaro was born to Italian immigrant parents in Youngstown, Ohio. After serving in WW II, he attended the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco, and returned to Europe for independent studies.

He is known for his portraiture painting of people, clowns, animals, landscapes, still life and abstracts. This painting was probably done during his travels in India and Burma. He was nominated for the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1965.
