Best known for his realistic Western genre paintings, Tom Ryan is a well listed Texas artist who began his career as an illustrator in New York, New York.

Born in Illinois in 1922, he learned his craft at the Saint Louis School of Fine Art, and the Art Students League in New York. Tom Ryan won the Prix de West Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996, and his paintings have sold at auction for as much as $200,000.00.
