Born in 1888 in San
Francisco, Will White was a well listed early California painter who was
self-taught as an artist from a very early age. During World Ware II he was sent
to France where he designed and painted camouflage motifs and disguises on
Allied ships.
He later relocated to Los
Angeles after the war, and was a founding member of the Los Angeles Art
Director's Club and Painters and Artists Club.
This painting was
exhibited at the San Clemente, California Arts & Crafts show in 1958.
